Rebranding
SOCARFAM presents a new image and a new website to enhance all its know-how and reposition the brand in the market.
2022
Reinforcement of effectiveness and productivity
SOCARFAM acquires a 5-axis CNC machine and hot air edge banding machine, allowing to reinforce and improve productivity and effectiveness in project delivery. This was an acquisition that allowed us to increase our recognition as a cutting-edge company.
2016
Looking to the future…
Hélder Carvalho, son of Joaquim Aurélio Costa Carvalho, and architect, assumes the role of CEO of SOCARFAM, adding new knowledge and skills to the company's know-how.
2012
A new chapter begins...
After a challenging period, which began in 1980, Joaquim Carvalho purchased SOCARFAM and ensured the continuity of the project, maintaining the entire team and assuming the position of Chairman of the company to this day.
2000
Entry into the International Market
SOCARFAM's know-how and quality is beginning to conquer other markets, starting to be present in countries such as Angola, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Morocco, Ghana, Luxembourg, Gibraltar and Mozambique.
1996
Change of premises
SOCARFAM moves to new facilities and acquires a whole range of innovative machines for processing wood and wood products and finishing. This heavy investment in innovation, quality and speed resulted in the execution of the common spaces of one of the largest Portuguese shopping malls at the time: NorteShopping.
1980
SOCARFAM is born
The Sociedade de Carpintaria Famalicense was created by two businessmen to produce all the carpentry for the projects of the construction company A. S. Couto. SOCARFAM quality began to be recognized by the sector, beginning to be requested by contractors and external customers. Joaquim Carvalho becomes responsible for the team, starting to manage production and recruitment.

For us, wood is unvaluable. It’s our raw material. Therefore, we value the power of reuse to make unique and sustainable pieces. Each day there are more and more projects where reused wood is the key element for greener products.
